Shore Proof Accounting - Our Origin Story

Updated: Nov 14, 2021

Hello! Thank you for visiting our site and looking through our blog. We wanted to start with a little background of who we are, why we opened Shore Proof Accounting, and what we believe is different about our company.

Who are we?

We are a small group of women who came together at our previous employer. Although (or perhaps because) we come from very different backgrounds, we found that we worked incredibly well as a team. So when things changed and it was time to move on, we wanted to continue working together doing what we love. You can learn more about each of us as individuals on our “About Us” page on the website.

Why did we open Shore Proof?

When this opportunity presented itself, we talked amongst ourselves about what we want out of work and life, and found that what we really wanted was to work for a company that focused on providing excellent customer service, while also allowing for the employees to have a work-life balance. We wanted the freedom to spend as much time with our clients as we need to develop relationships and provide outstanding services. Since we do have a wide range of skill sets, we found that we could provide comprehensive services to clients, and start a business that runs the way we believe businesses should be run.

What is different about Shore Proof?

Over the past decade, accounting programs and cloud services have popped up everywhere; large, faceless companies that promise you they are the right fit for your business, but then fit your business into one of their pre-packaged plans instead of customizing a plan for you. At Shore Proof, we believe that every business is unique, and we strive to customize our services to fit your needs, rather than fitting you into a pre-packaged box.

What can you expect when you work with Shore Proof?

Bookkeeping and accounting services are not just an administrative task that needs to be handled. A quality financial management system is priceless. At Shore Proof, we believe that your bookkeeper should be the “right arm” of your business. We won’t just do data entry, we will help you gain the insight into your business that well-done financials can provide.

Ask yourself these questions about your business:

  • Do you have a plan for what happens in an economic downturn?

  • Do you know how to price your goods or services to cover your expenses?

  • Have you reviewed your overhead costs and searched for ways to cut down?

  • How do you plan for the financial impact of changes in your operations?

These are just some of the questions Shore Proof can help you answer. But here is the most important question:

  • Do you know how much you could earn if you could dedicate yourself full-time to your business and not worry about handling the financials?

Can we help you?

Many small and medium size businesses can’t afford to hire a full-time employee to do bookkeeping and accounting tasks. That’s where Shore Proof comes in. We will feel like a regular employee, without the extra overhead expenses. You will be able to meet your financial goals and rest assured that your finances are in great hands!

Some of you may have very qualified staff already in place, and just need a little extra support. Among the Shore Proof staff, we have experience as:

  • Controller

  • Assistant Controller

  • Project Specialist

  • Time Management Consulting

  • Organizational Consulting

We have industry specific experience in construction, manufacturing, restaurants, hotels, retail goods, retail services, wholesale businesses, healthcare and many others. We have experience in filing payroll, sales and use taxes, etc, in many states including but not limited to Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

In short, if you need something, one of us can help you, whether it’s for a quick question, or more day-to-day involvement. We will be your Shore Proof way to quality financial management.
